SINGING · PRACTICAL GUIDE

What to practise between singing lessons

Return to a phrase from your lesson, focus on one thing and prepare your questions for the next session.

Explore Rem’s teaching approach

Return to what you worked on

Choose the phrase, song passage or exercise you explored with Rem. Returning to a familiar example helps you find your reference without inventing a whole new practice session.

If takes were recorded with your agreement, Rem sends you the files. They help you recall the lesson example and listen to differences between your attempts.

Keep one question in mind

What are you trying to find again: a more accurate starting note, breathing at a different point, or an easier passage? Choose the point you worked on in the lesson, then repeat your phrase.

For example, if you tried breathing at a different point, repeat that passage with the same reference. Listen to what changes before adding another instruction.

Compare without judging yourself

A recording is an example to listen to, not a grade on your worth. Ask what feels easier, what you can find again and what surprises you.

You do not have to solve everything alone. Write down a specific question or a passage that remains difficult and bring it to the next lesson.

Choose the next step with Rem

A lesson every two weeks is generally recommended, but the rhythm remains open to discussion according to your interests, practice and Rem’s availability.

At the next appointment, you talk about what you tried. Keep the same goal, return to a song or explore something else. There is no compulsory subscription or package.
