I'm self-taught. One night at a jam there was no singer and the audience pushed me on stage. When I heard my voice come back through the monitors, something clicked.
I then kept going at Brussels jams, learning by doing. Singing while hearing yourself is a unique experience: you explore your voice, sink into it, and enter an almost meditative state, close to flow. That is the discovery I pass on with the REM method, and my students experience it in turn in lessons.
Later, I understood how important posture is. It upended my approach and gave it a much broader dimension: my method became more effective. Well-being and self-confidence no longer come only from singing, but from posture too: when you hear yourself, observe yourself and hold yourself better, you feel good, and when you feel good, you are confident. How I see a lesson
I play, you sing, we listen, then you try again. With the piano, microphone and headphones, you hear the difference straight away. There is no fixed programme: each lesson starts from your voice today. I also work on posture with my students, because it matters as much as the singing (learn more).
Musician and producer
I also compose and produce. If you have an idea for a song or a demo, it can have a place in a lesson. Let's talk about it. It remains a lesson, not a studio package.
