Singing lessons in Brussels: the first lesson

What happens during the hour

1. Demonstration. I show you my improvisation approach at the piano. If you lack inspiration, I give you two phrases to start with.
2. Your turn to sing. You sing those phrases. I observe your voice and, with your agreement, record it.
3. Advice, then another try. I guide you, then you try again with those pointers to hear what changed.
4. Out of the comfort zone. You test, play with your voice and let go.
5. The body. I suggest a few posture cues, which often change the sound right away.

What we want to find out

The first lesson is a starting point for your voice: where it is now, what its range is, and which song suits it best today. The goal is to open your voice and take it towards wider registers. Afterwards, we can also work on real songs chosen for your voice.

Does improvising scare you a bit? That's normal, and it's much simpler than it looks: I guide you step by step.

Often, by the end of the session, students hear their voice open up. You can judge for yourself in their reviews.

Before: an optional 15-minute video call

After your request, I offer a free, optional 15-minute video call. We get to know each other, I explain my approach and we see whether it suits you. This video call is optional. Then we book the lesson.

• Price: €50, pay as you go. No packs, no subscription.
• Nothing to bring, maybe a bottle of water. No music theory needed.
