The REM Method
Your voice becomes your main learning tool.
You improvise two phrases with Rem on piano, then listen back to a first recording. Between attempts, he offers one short direction or exercise based on what he hears.
As you sing again, you hear the effect of the change and your body gradually learns the movement that brings more pitch accuracy and ease.

The first lesson defines the way forward with you.
It lasts 60 minutes and costs €50, with no commitment. For an adult, it takes place in Rem’s Ixelles mini-studio. You receive the recordings made during this first lesson.

You record a first attempt. Between the next attempts, Rem gives one suggestion or exercise suited to your voice.

What to know before you come.
Can I start if I have never sung before?
Yes. You sing during the first lesson without needing music theory. Rem starts with your voice, experience and goal.
Do I need to read music?
No. Music theory is not required. The work starts with listening, singing and clear comparisons.
Where do lessons take place?
An adult’s first lesson takes place in Rem’s mini-studio in Ixelles. Later lessons can be held there, in a rehearsal room near Arcade or at your home in Brussels. A home visit adds €10.
How much is one lesson?
A one-to-one, in-person lesson lasts 60 minutes and costs €50. There is no compulsory package or commitment.
Are lessons available online?
Singing lessons are in person. If you would like to meet first, send Rem a WhatsApp message and he can offer a free 15-minute video call.
Can the whole lesson be in English?
Yes. Lessons can take place entirely in English or French.
What happens during the first lesson?
Rem introduces his approach and a simple improvisation technique. You create two phrases with his piano accompaniment and record several attempts between suggestions and exercises. You listen together and receive the recordings from the lesson.
Do I have to improvise?
Improvisation is introduced as a simple tool for discovering your voice. It does not replace your goals: later work can focus on a song, technique, piano accompaniment or a personal project.
How often should I take a lesson?
Rem generally recommends one lesson every two weeks. Weekly lessons are also possible depending on your goal and availability.
Do you teach teenagers?
Yes, from age 14. A parent must send the request, and the lesson takes place at the family home with a parent present or nearby. For a younger child, contact Rem to discuss it first.
